What is the Gamma Mu Foundation?
The Gamma Mu Foundation was established to provide financial support to non-profit organizations that serve clients and communities primarily in the rural and/or underserved areas of the United States. The Foundation awards direct financial grants to support HIV/AIDS services, community services, or research and public education that benefits the LGBT community.
The Foundation also awards financial support in the form of academic scholarships to members of the LGBT community who demonstrate financial need and the desire to pursue additional training through academic or vocational education.
Mission, Purpose and Vision
MISSION STAEMENT “The Gamma Mu Foundation is a non-profit charitable foundation that seeks to
make a positive difference in the lives of the LGBT community, primarily in rural and underserved populations of the United States.”
VISION STATEMENT “The Gamma Mu Foundation’s vision is to help create an environment that
promotes health, acceptance, and pride in the LGBT community and a more accepting and inclusive
environment for people regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. We will seek to increase
bequests and contributions from corporate donors to increase funding for our mission.
Board of Directors
The Foundation's Board of Directors consists of 15 seats. Each Board Member is elected to serve a three year term and is eligible for re-election per the Foundation's bylaws.
